Family and personal background

I live near North Bend, Washington in the foothills of the Cascade mountains with my wife and three children. We chose this area as we enjoy spending time outdoors. Besides the terrific hiking and mountain biking trails nearby, we are but a 20 min. drive from the Snoqualmie Summit ski area, where I ski patrol during the ski season. I am a volunteer firefighter/EMT for our local fire station also. Besides these hobbies, I also enjoy reloading and target shooting, programming in C and Visual Basic, playing racquetball, fishing, and hunting.

Davesport business

I began the Davesport business in 2000 as an evolutionary step that began with my being unhappy with the quality of work I was paying to have done to my race cars and projects. I figured I could do a better job if I just had the tools. Since those days, I've been purchasing tools, acquiring knowledge and experience, and building more and more complex projects and vehicles. 

When vehicles are pushed past their design limits, they begin experiencing failures. Shortcomings in design also become evident. I've used the experience I've gained from performance rally racing and from my four wheel drive hobby, along with engineering and physics studies to design and build high quality innovative products.
